Coffee is a popular drink worldwide, and almost everyone enjoys drinking a cup. Aside from water, coffee is probably the most consumed drink in the world. Espresso coffee is more popular today than it has ever been at any time in its history. Italy created the espresso drink.
Espresso Coffee

Properly brewed, an espresso will feature a layer of rich dark-golden cream ... "crema" ... clinging to its wall, thinning out across its surface. Crema is one indicator of a quality espresso. Most prefer to pull espresso shots directly into a pre-heated demitasse or shot glass, to maintain the ideal temperature of the espresso, preserving all its crema.

It comes from the Italian term "caffè espresso," which translates literally "pressed-out coffee," but has come to mean "fast," as well Caffè espresso is a concentrated coffee beverage brewed by forcing very hot, but not boiling, water under high pressure through coffee that has been ground to a consistency between extremely fine particles and powder.

Making a great espresso is truly an art as well as a science. Contrary to popular belief in some cultures, an espresso contains less caffeine than an equal amount of coffees, brewed most other ways. Many of the most popular drinks that we consume everyday are made using espresso, rather than the more traditional filter or drip coffee. Drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos, mochas and macchiatos.
espresso machine

Milan, Italy, saw a revolution in coffee making 1901. Luigi Bezzera invented an espresso making coffee machine and a coffee making method, which became famous as "Espresso Caffè." Until the mid-1940s, the use of steam pressure alone brewed the coffee. The invention of the spring piston lever machine and its subsequent commercial success changed espresso into the beverage we know today.
